ISG Develops 4 Province Driver License System

(May 18th. 2005 ) OTTAWA - Identity Systems Group (ISG), an independent consultant firm specializing in government identification & driver Licensing, has entered into an agreement to develop a Request for Proposal for the four Atlantic Provinces. ISG will lead the four provincial Registrars responsible for driver license and identification card issuance in a collaborative approach to developing a common platform.

ISG will lead the development of a project which will see Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador and New Brunswick cooperate in a joint procurement of a common driver license platform The system shall also be used to issue provincial identification documents and other secure government credentials such as law enforcement identification and possibly health cards.

"This is the first time government jurisdictions have collaborated to realize huge savings through common application development and the benefit of increasing economy of scale savings through a joint procurement," said Ian Williams Principal and founder of Identity Systems Group "This may be the way of the future where smaller jurisdictions group to realize the same economic benefits that large volume provinces and states like Ontario, Florida & California experience" Williams added.

This marks the tenth jurisdiction in Canada and the United States that have contracted ISG to help develop new RFP's and identify cost savings measures.
